Congress today said the sting operation on Babri Masjid demolition exposed the true face of BJP and RSS which can go to "any extent" to further their political interests with Narendra Modi leading the pack.
Launching a scathing attack on BJP and the Sangh Parivar, Congress said a party which claims to be nationalist tried to damage the secular fabric of the country in the name of religion.
"They have no concern for unity and integrity of the country. To further their political interest they can go to any interest. Like Naxals, they had set up a training camp in Gujarat to train people in demolishing buildings.

Responding to claims by Cobrapost - which carried out the sting - that then Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao was also aware that the mosque will be demolished, he said then Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh had filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court that it was his constitutional duty to protect the mosque.
"The affidavit proved that he (Singh) cheated the Supreme Court," he said.
He said the contents of the string operation and not who carried it out was more important. "So far, no BJP leader has said the contents were wrong," Surjewal said, responding to BJP's charge that the operation was Congress' idea.
Speaking separately, party leader Rashid Alvi sought arrest of VHP's Ashok Singhal in the wake of a reported statement that the mandir moment will get momentum only after "we get killed some Hindus".
"It shows that they do not have respect for Hindu dharma and neither have sympathy for Hindus and Muslims," Alvi said.
Cobrapost has purportedly recorded claims of a number of VHP leaders and others, who were involved in the Ram Mandir movement, in which they have said that the razing of the mosque was planned and L K Advani, who led the agitation, and Kalyan Singh were in the know.
