Nepalese police nabbed a Namibian national with over 2 kg of cocaine having an estimated street value of Rs 5.34 crore at Tribhuvan International Airport here, the largest seizure of narcotics from an individual.
The 40-year-old Namibian tourist, Raymond Zungu Oppel, was arrested on the basis of a tip-off at the airport last evening as soon as he arrived on a flight from Dubai.
About 2.66 kg of cocaine were found on him and officials said the drugs were estimated to be worth USD 534,000. The police found 45 plastic-coated capsules containing drugs.

During initial investigation, it was suspected that more capsules could be hidden in his body. Oppel was then admitted to a hospital, where police found another 112 capsules in his stomach.
In another case, French national Aousin Glenn Christophe was arrested at the same airport during a security check as he was about to board a flight for Belgium with over 2 kg of heroin yesterday.
He had hidden the drugs in five handmade diaries with false bottoms.
The two foreigners are currently in custody at Kathmandu District Police Office and legal action is being taken against them under the drug trafficking act, officials said.
