Coconut oil eases in thin trade

Barring a slide in coconut oil prices on sluggish demand, other edible and non-edible oils remained steady at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today in limited deals.

Traders said sluggish demand from retailers along with lower advices from producing regions mainly put pressure on coconut oil prices.

In the national capital, coconut oil shed Rs 25 at Rs 2,675-2,750 per tin.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.

Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 1,000-1,200.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 7,600, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,300-1,350, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 7,200, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,225- 1,275, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,275-1,375, sesame mill delivery 8,300, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 6,650, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 6,350, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 4,800, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 6,100, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,900, Palmolein (Kandla) 5,700 and Coconut (per tin) 2,675-2,750.
 

Non-edible oils: Linseed 8,050, Castor 9,700-9,800, Neem 5,350-5,450.
