Coconut oil eases in thin trading on subdued demand

Barring a fall in coconut oil prices on sluggish demand from traders, other edible and non-edible oils held steady at the wholesale market today.

Marketmen said sluggish demand from retailers and lower advices from producing belts mainly led to the decline in coconut oil prices.

In the national capital, coconut oil eased by Rs 75 to Rs 2,300-2,350 per tin.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustardseed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnutseed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 930-1,070.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 8,800, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,600-1,650, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 7,300, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,250-1,300, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,300-1,400, sesame mill delivery Rs 8,100, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,700, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,400, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,300, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,700, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,800, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,700 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 2,350-2,350.
 

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 8,500, Castor Rs 9,950-10,050, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
