Colonel S D Goswami has been appointed as officiating defence PRO in Manipur in place of sacked defence PRO Colonel Ajay Choudhury, official sources said today.
Goswami, who served as PRO defence some years ago in the state, arrived here yesterday to take up the new assignment.
He would be the in-charge till the appointment of a full-fledged PRO, the sources said.
Choudhary was sacked after he along with five others was arrested for allegedly carrying illicit drugs valued at an estimated Rs 15 crore meant to be smuggled out to Myanmar, in one of the biggest such hauls in the state.
