Police are on the lookout for five persons, suspected to be Defence personnel, who along with three others had allegedly assaulted people at a south Mumbai bar recently.

On last Friday night, eight persons had attacked customers at 'Vrindavan' bar in the plush Colaba area in south Mumbai. They had also roughed up the bar staff other than thrashing two passersby, police said.

Even as three of the eight accused had been nabbed, five others had managed to flee, they added.

The trio-- Vikramjit Singh and Sumit Yadav, both of whom are attached to INS Shikra in Mumbai, and Amit Yadav, an IAF personnel from Bhuj in Gujarat-- were booked for assault and indecent behaviour.

"The trio was fined Rs 1,200 each and let off with a warning," Vinay Gadgil, Senior Inspector of Colaba police station said.

"The remaining five accused, who are also suspected to be Defence personnel, are yet to be identified. We have launched a search for them and are yet to get the CCTV footage of the incident inside the bar," he added.

Further investigation is on.
