Cold conditions returned to parts of northern India as the minimum temperature once again settled below the freezing point across Kashmir and chilly weather prevailed in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.
The minimum temperature in Jammu and Kashmir's summer capital Srinagar was recorded at -1.5C, while Qazigund the gateway town to the valley - registered a minimum of -2.4C, a Met department official said in Srinagar.
The official said the minimum temperature in Gulmarg was -7.0C, making it the coldest place recorded in the valley.

The night temperature in Leh settled at -5.2C, while the nearby Kargil town recorded a minimum of -13.0C.
Kargil was the coldest place recorded in the state.
In Himachal Pradesh, strong icy winds swept the mid and higher hills under partially overcast sky, causing marginal drop in maximum temperature at a few places in the state.
Keylong was the coldest place in the state as the maximum temperature settled at 6.5C today.
Tribal areas reeled under sub-zero temperatures.
Keylong, Kalpa and Manali recorded a minimum of -4.8C, - 1.0C, and 0.8C respectively. Shimla and Solan shivered at 3.1C and 3.3C, followed by Bhuntar (4.4C) and Sundernagar (4.6C).
The meteorological office in Shimla has forecast rains or snow in the mid and higher hills on Tuesday.
In Delhi, the minimum and maximum temperatures rose.
The minimum temperature in the national capital settled a degree above the season's average at 9.3C.
The maximum temperature settled at 24.6C, three notches above the average. The day began with a partly cloudy sky but later the sun shown brightly infusing warmth through the day.
Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail over the next two days, a Met department official said in Delhi.
Punjab and Haryana experienced cold conditions largely.
Residents of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, which is also the joint capital of the two states, braved cold conditions with a minimum of 7.7C, one notch above the normal.
Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala in Punjab recorded a minimum temperature of 5.1C, 7.0C and 7.6C respectively.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a low of 10.4C, three degrees above the normal, while the minimum temperature in Bhiwani, Hisar and Karnal was 8.2C, 5.0C and 6.0C respectively, up to three notches below the normal.
Dense to very dense fog occurred at a few places in Uttar Pradesh, but the weather largely remained dry, the Met office said in Lucknow.
The minimum temperature last night remained above the normal in Jhansi, Agra, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Allahabad. Muzaffarnagar recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 6.2C, the Met office said.
The weather is likely to remain dry in the state until Tuesday.
