A pale winter sun during the day and a drop in the mercury meant there was no relief from the cold today in Delhi, which also saw a dense fog in the morning delaying more than 50 trains.
The minimum in the national capital settled at 6.6 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal, while the maximum was recorded at 16 degrees, a drop of five points from the season's average.
A dense fog cover in the morning delayed 51 north-bound trains as visibility stood at less than 800-m. According to a Northern Railway official, the trains were behind schedule by several hours.

The forecast is for fog in the morning tomorrow followed by partly cloudy skies during the day, the weatherman added.
The minimum and maximum are expected to be at 7 and 17 degrees, respectively.
Yesterday, the maximum here was at 18.3 degrees with the minimum recorded at 7.2 degrees, which was normal for this time of the season.
