Cold, dry weather persists in UP; Churk in Sonbhadra shivers at 3.6 deg C

Cold, dry weather persisted in Uttar Pradesh with the state capital witnessing dense fog on Sunday morning and recording a minimum temperature of 6.3 degrees Celsius, one notch below the normal.

The meteorological office said Churk in Sonbhadra district recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 3.6 degrees Celsius followed by Bahraich at 3.8 degree Celsius.

Ghazipur recorded a low of 4 degrees Celsius, Banda 4.2 degrees Celsius, Moradabad 4.8 degrees Celsius. Lakhimpur, Kanpur and Fatehpur each recorded their minimum temperature at 5.2 degrees Celsius.

The weatherman has forecast rain or thundershowers at isolated places in the state over the next few days.
