Cold, fog hit normal life in UP; 6 killed

Six persons were killed in different parts of Uttar Pradesh due to cold wave and fog, which continued to affect normal life in most parts of the state.

In Bhadohi district three persons were killed due to severe cold wave, sources said.

Another three persons were today killed in Firozabad district when a motorcycle was hit by a truck due to fog.

According to the Meteorological department, weather was mainly dry over the state and dense to moderate fog occurred at many places over the state.

The night temperature fell appreciably in Gorakhpur and Meerut divisions. It fell moderately in Faizabad, Bareilly and Moradabad divisions.
 

The temperature rose in Allahabad division and changed little elsewhere over the state.

It was appreciably above normal in Allahabad and Jhansi divisions.

Lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Etawah at 4 degree Celsius.
