Cold, fog prevails in Raj, train services hit

Cold conditions continued unabated in desert state of Rajasthan where normal life was hit due to dense fog which affected train services in the region.

As many as 18 trains were running late under the North Western Railway and four trains were partially cancelled, a NWR spokesperson said today.

Dense fog and ground frost occurred in Sriganganagar, Sikar, Churu and nearby regions, MeT department said.

The mercury dipped to 0.6 degrees Celsius in Churu, while Mount Abu's low settled at 2 degree Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Sikar, Pilani, Udaipur, Sriganganagar, Jaipur was recorded at 3, 3.8, 4.4, 5.2 and 5.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
 

Jodhpur's low settled at 6.6 degrees Celsius, while the mercury dipped to 7.5 degrees Celsius in Ajmer.

Jaisalmer's low settled at 9.4 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature at Barmer was recorded at 10.8 degrees Celsius.

The MeT Department has forecast that cold conditions would prevail for next 24 hours.
