Cold spell continues in capital

Though today's minimum is up by almost a degree from the previous day, icy winds forced people to stay indoors during the morning hours. Today's minimum is four degrees below the normal level at this time of the season.

There was some relief for people as the sun came out after the morning hours. The maximum was registered at 15.4 deg C, five degrees below normal and up from yesterday's 13.4 deg C.

The Weatherman had predicted mainly clear sky for tomorrow with the maximum hovering around 15 deg C and minimum at 4 deg C.

Meanwhile, flight operations were today normal at the IGI airport here despite shallow fog. Though there was fog at the airport, it had no impact on flight operations as the visibility did not dip below 100 m through the night, airport officials said.

 

Visibility dipped at the third runway to 50 m in the morning, the time when most departure take place.

However, it had no impact on the flight movement as the visibility at the main runway was around 1,000 m, they said.
