Cold wave condition persists in many parts of Odisha

Cold wave conditions continued unabated in many parts of Odisha today despite marginal fall in temperature in some areas, while Phulbani in Kandhamal district remained the coldest place in the state where the temperature was recorded at 5.6 degrees Celsius.

Kandhamal remained the coldest zone in the state, as the district headquarter town of Phulbani recorded a minimum of 5.6 degrees Celsius.

The mercury stood at 8 degrees Celsius at picturesque Daringibadi in the mountainous district, the MeT department here said.

Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, marginally lower than 15.7 degrees Celsius recorded yesterday, it said.
 

The minimum temperature dropped below 10 degrees Celsius in at least eight places in the state.

The minimum temperature at Bhawanipatna stood at 6.6 degrees Celsius, while it was 8 and 9 degrees Celsius at Sundargarh and Talcher, respectively.

Sambalpur recorded 9.8 degrees Celsius, while Angul and Hirakud registered a temperature of 9.6 and 9.9 degrees Celsius, the MeT office said.
