The piercing cold wave conditions continued in higher hills and tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh even as day temperatures rose marginally in mid and lower hills.
Keylong and Kalpa in tribal districts of Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur recorded minimum temperatures at minus 5.6 degrees and 0.4 degrees Celsius while the key tourist of Manali shivered at 1.6 degrees C, followed by Bhuntar 6 deg, Sundernagar 7.4 deg, Shimla and Solan 8.2 deg and Palampur 8.5 deg C respectively.
Nahan was the hottest during the night with minimum temperature at 12.5 deg C while Dharamsala and Una recorded a low of 11.4 deg and 10.4 deg respectively, 2 degrees below normal.
Una was the hottest during the day with maximum temperature recording at 31 deg Celsius, while Sundernagar recorded a high of 28 deg C, followed by Bhuntar 26 deg, Nahan 24.9 deg, Solan 24.5 deg, Dharamsala 23.8 deg and Shimla 18.1 deg, a rise of one to two degrees since yesterday.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the mid and lower hills and rains and thundershowers at isolated places in higher reaches and tribal areas during the next four days.
