The intense cold wave conditions abated in parts of Himachal Pradesh due to rise in day temperatures but chilly nights continued as there was no appreciable increase in night temperatures.
Una in Shivalik foothills was hottest in the region with maximum temperature at 29.8 deg C while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded a high of 28.9 deg C and 27.8 deg C, followed by Nahan and Solan 24.8 deg C, Dharamsala 22.2 deg C, Shimla 20.7 deg C and Kalpa 7.6 deg C C, 3 to 8 deg C above normal.
There was not much fluctuation in night temperatures and Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts recorded minimum temperature at minus 6.6 deg C and 0.6 deg C while Manali was cool at low of 3.5 deg C C.
Dharamsala was hottest during the night with minimum temperature at 11.8 deg C while Bhuntar recorded a low of 6.8 deg C, followed by Solan 8 deg C, Sundernagar 8.8 deg C, Shimla 9.6 deg C, Una 10.2 deg C and Palampur 10.5 deg C C.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather for next three days but a fresh Western Disturbance (WD) as an upper air system likely to affect western Himalayan region from March 9 onwards.
