Cold wave conditions intensify in Himachal

Cold wave conditions intensified in Himachal Pradesh as minimum temperatures hovered around freezing point in high-altitude tribal areas and dropped below 5 degrees Celsius at many places in the mid-hills.

The minimum temperatures ranged between minus 5 and minus 8 degrees Celsius in high-altitude tribal areas, the weather department said.

Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district recorded a low of minus 1.7 degree Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Bhuntar was 3 degree Celsius, while it was 3.5 degree Celsius in Sundernagar, 5 in Solan, 7 Palampur, 7.8 Dharamsala, 9.9 Nahan.

Una was the hottest in the region at28 degree Celsius, they said.
 

The maximum temperature in Sundernagar was 23.4 degree Celsius while it was 22.3 in Bhuntar, 20.9 in Nahan, 21.8 in Solan, 20 in Manali, 18.8 in Kalpa and 18.3 in Shimla.

The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region over next six days.
