Cold wave continue in Rajasthan, fog disrupts normal life

Cold conditions continued unabated in desert state Rajasthan where flight operations and trains services were hit due to dense fog which also threw normal life out of gear.

An official of the Sanganer airport said that ten flights were delayed due to fog at Sanganer airport.

Four international flights to Dubai, Maskat, Sharjah and six domestic flights were delayed and rescheduled due to the fog, he said.

Also, 23 trains under the North-Western Railway were running late and 12 trains reached their destinations late, according to a NWR spokesman.

New Delhi-Ajmer Shatabdi Express and Jabalpur-Ajmer Express are running 53 and 48 minutes late respectively, while other trains were delayed by few minutes to up to six hours, he said.
 

Traffic at highways was also moving at a snail's pace.

Mount Abu was the coldest place in Rajasthan with a low of 2 degrees Celsius.

Pilani recorded a minimum of 3.8 degrees Celsius followed by Churu at 4.2 degrees C, according to the MeT department.

Bikaner, Sriganganagar and Jaipur registered a minimum of 4.5 deg C, 5.7 deg C and 6.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

Jaisalmer, Sikar, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Barmer recorded 7.3 deg C, 7 deg C, 7.4 deg C, 8 deg C, 8.4 deg C and 8.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
