Cold wave continues in high-altitude areas of HP

Cold wave conditions continued in the high-altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh, even as the mercury rose marginally in most parts of the state.

Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul and Spiti, and Kinnaur districts recorded a low of minus 6.1 degrees Celsius and minus 0.4 degrees Celsius, the MeT department said.

Manali shivered at 2 degrees Celsius while Bhuntar recorded a low of 4 degrees Celsius, followed by Sundernagar 5.1 degrees Celsius, Solan 6.2 degrees Celsius, Shimla and Una both 7.3 degrees Celsius and Dharamsala 10.8 degrees Celsius.

The mercury rose to 28.6 degrees Celsius in Una, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded a high of 25 degrees Celsius and 24.2 degrees Celsius respectively. The maximum temperature in Shimla was 16.8 degrees Celsius.
 

The MeT office has predicted wet spell in the region with rains or snowfall at isolated places in mid and higher hills for four days from tomorrow.
