Cold wave continues in many parts of Himachal Pradesh

Cold wave continued unabated in many parts of Himachal Pradesh as minimum temperatures dropped further and thick fog engulfed areas along the banks of Sutlej, Beas and Ravi rivers.

High altitude areas and mountain passes reeled under piercing cold wave conditions with minimum temperatures ranging between minus 8 degrees Celsius and minus 12 degrees Celsius, the MeT department said.

Keylong and Kalpa in Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts recorded a low of minus 4.6 degrees Celsius and minus 2 degrees Celsius respectively, while Manali shivered at zero degree Celsius.

Una was the hottest in the state registering a high of 26 degrees Celsius, followed by Sundernagar 22.4 degrees Celsius, Nahan 21.5 degrees Celsius and Shimla 15.6 degrees Celsius.
 

The weatherman has predicted dry weather in the region over the next six days.
