Cold wave conditions continued to affect normal life in Rajasthan as the mercury plummeted in most places of the state today.

Mount Abu, the state's sole hill station, recorded the lowest temperature at 4 degrees Celsius last night, according to a MeT report.

The mercury dipped by one to four degrees Celsius at most places with the inflow of northerly chilly winds, the report said.

Jaisalmer was the coldest place in the plains with a minimum temperature of 7.7 degrees while Barmer's low settled at 8.3 degrees. Bikaner, Churu and Sriganganagar's minimum temperatures settled between 8.2 and 8.8 degrees Celsius.

State capital Jaipur's sky was engulfed with mist and foggy conditions after last night's minimum temperature of 9.7 degrees.

Scattered intermittent drizzles also occurred in Hadauti region covering Kota, Baran and Tonk districts.

People could expect sunshine in north-west of the state from Tuesday onwards, a forecast said.
