Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district recorded lowest temperature at minus eleven degree Celsius while the minimum temperature hovered around freezing at many places with Manali recording a low of minus 0.8 degree C, followed by Kalpa minus 0.4 degree, Bhuntar minus 0.2 degree and Sundernagar and Solan 0.3 degree celsius, Met office sources said.
The night temperature dipped to 4.3 degree Celsius in Nahan, eight degree below normal while the state capital Shimla recorded minimum temperature at 7 degree, three degree above normal.
Una, Mandi and Palampur also recorded a low of 4.0 degree C respectively, minus two degree below normal.
Sundernagar was hottest in the region with maximum temperature at 23.3 degree Celsius followed by Una 22.4 degree, Solan 21.4 degree, Bhuntar 20.3 degree, Dharamshala 19.6 degree, Shimla 16.9 degree, Nahan 15.9 degree and Kalpa 9.3 degree Celsius.
The high altitude areas shivered under biting cold wave conditions with minimum temperatures staying between minus 11 and minus 18 degree Celsius.
