Cold wave continues unabated in HP

Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district was coldest in the region with minimum temperature recorded at minus 9.3 degree Celisus while the key tourist resort of Manali and Kalpa in tribal Kinnaur district recorded a low of minus 2.0 degree and minus 1.6 degree C respectively, followed by Bhuntar 0.2 degree, Solan 0.8 degree and Sundernagar 1.0 degree, Met office sources said.

The mercury dipped to 3.6 degree, seven degree below normal at Nahan and 2.0 degree Celius at Una in Shivalik foothills respectively while Mandi and Palampur recorded minimum temperature at 4.6 degree and Shimla was a bit warmer with a low of 5.0 degree, 1.6 degree above normal.

 

Solan was hottest in the day with maximum temperature at 21.2 degree Celsius while Sundernagar recorded a high of 20.7 degree, followed by Bhunter 18.6 degree, Dharamshala 16.8 degree, Shimla 15.7 degree, Nahan 11.3 degree and Kalpa 09.2 degree.

Una recorded maximum temperature at 10.2 degree C, nine degree below normal.

Dense fog engulfed towns along the banks of Sutlej, Beas and Ravi rivers in the morning hours, hampering vehicular traffic.
