The minimum temperature remained below normal even as dense fog continued to envelop most parts of the state in the morning and evening, the Patna Meteorological department Director AK Sen said.

Sabour township in Bhagalpur district was the coldest place in Bihar with a minimum temperature of 3.2 degree celsius while the same in Patna stood at 4 degree celsius, he said.

Gaya recorded a minimum temperature of 5.2, while the same in Purnia, Muzaffarpur, Supaul, Motihari and Forbesganj stood at 4.4, 5.7, 3.8, 6 and 5.5 degree celsius respectively, Sen said.

However, the chilly weather conditions will dissipate over the next four days, he said.

The cold wave has had adverse impact on the rail and air services with several trains running late or being rescheduled, while the first commercial flight landed at the Patna airport at 3.30 pm after visibility improved, official sources said.
