Cold wave prevails in Delhi, rain likely

Cold wave continued to persist in Delhi today with icy winds sweeping across the city and early morning fog delaying 20 trains.

The weatherman has predicted that light rains/ thundershowers might occur in some areas later in the day.

"The minimum temperature recorded this morning was 10 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal," a MeT official said.

The visibility recorded at 8.30 AM was 800 metres and the humidity was 78 per cent.

According to a Northern Railway official, 20 north-bound trains were running behind schedule due to fog in morning hours.

"The maximum temperature is likely to settle at 20 degrees Celsius," the official said.
 

Yesterday, it was a warm day in the capital as the mercury rose to 24.0 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, due to overcast conditions. The minimum temperature, however, dipped to 6.7 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal for this time of the year.
