Cold wave subside in Himachal

Cold wave conditions slightly subsided and minimum temperature increased Monday in Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological Department said.

Snowfall is predicted in high and middle hill regions in the state, including Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, Chamba, Solan, Sirmaur and tribal Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti districts on January 1 and 2, Director of Shimla Met department Manmohan Singh said.

Keylong was the coldest in the state at minus 5 degrees Celsius between 5.30 pm Sunday and 8.30 am Monday, he added.

The minimum temperature in Kalpa of Kinnaur district was minus 1.4 degrees Celsius, minus 0.6 degrees Celsius in Manali of Kullu district, 5.6 degrees Celsius in Shimla, 6.1 degrees Celsius in Dalhousie, 3.7 degrees Celsius in Kufri and 6.2 degrees Celsius in Chail, he said.
