Cold wave sweeps Haryana, Punjab

Cold wave conditions continued unabated in Haryana and neighouring Punjab with Narnaul recorded as the coldest place in the plains.

Narnaul shivered at 2 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal limits, the MeT Department report said today.

Other places in Haryana which shivered under biting chill included Hisar recording a low of 3.2 degree Celsius, down four notches, while Karnal recorded a low of 5 degree Celsius, three degrees below normal limit.

Ambala also recorded a cold night at 7 degree Celsius, according to MeT.

In Punjab, Amritsar shivered at a low of 3.8 degree Celsius while respective below normal minimum temperatures at Ludhiana and Patiala settled at 6 degree Celsius and 6.1 degree Celsius.
 

Chandigarh, however, recorded an increase in its minimum by three notches since yesterday to settle at 7.8 degree Celsius.
