Cold wave tightens grip in Himachal as mercury drops further

Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest in the region with the minimum temperature staying below freezing point at minis 1.0 degree while Manali and Kalpa in Kinnaur district recording at a low of 1.8 degree, three degree below normal.

Bhuntar, Sundernagar and Solan recorded minimum temperature dipping to 3.1 degree, 4.1 degree and 4.5 degree, two degree below normal. Shimla recorded a low of 5.6 degree and maximum temperature at 15.6 Degree, a drop of three degrees since yesterday as the sky remained heavily overcast.

Nahan and Una in Shivalik foothills was in the grip of biting cold wave conditions with minimum temperature staying three degree below normal.

 

Local MeT office predicted rain or snow in higher hills as a Western disturbance over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir has moved eastwards and a fresh Western disturbance lies over north Pakistan and neighbourhood.
