Cold winds sweep parts of UP; fog hampers vehicular, rail

Cold winds swept parts of Uttar Pradesh with Najibabad recording the lowest minimum temperature of 5.2 degrees Celsius as dense fog hampered vehicular and rail traffic in the state.

Day temperatures fell in most parts of the state and Lucknow recorded maximum temperature of 15.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 10.3 degrees Celsius, an MeT official said.

The state capital will very dense fog from midnight to forenoon and moderate to dense fog throughout the day, a report from the meteorological department said.

Meerut recorded a low of 5.3 degree Celsius and is likely to witness fog for the next couple of days, it said.
