FMCG firm Colgate Palmolive (India) today reported 1.6 per cent rise in its net profit to Rs 112.83 crore for the third quarter ended December 31.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 111.05 crore during the same period of the previous fiscal.
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 883.83 crore for the third quarter as against Rs 762.68 crore during the same period a year ago, Colgate Palmolive (India) said in a filing to the BSE.

During the period, the company achieved a volume growth of 10 per cent over the same quarter of the previous year, led by a strong growth of 11 per cent in the toothpaste category, it added.
"Despite the inflationary environment and pressure on the rupee, the company's focus on driving efficiencies and reducing costs coupled with prudent price increases has resulted in higher gross margin," the company said.
Shares of Colgate Palmolive today closed down by 1.11 per cent at Rs 1,310.60 apiece on the BSE.
