Colin Farrell 'excited' to be in 'True Detective' season 2

Actor Colin Farrell has confirmed that he will star in the next installment of the anthology series 'True Detective'.

The 38-year-old did not reveal much about his role or other details about the upcoming season as he claims that he knew 'very little' about the season two, reported Ace Showbiz.

"I'm doing the second series. I'm so excited," he said.

It was earlier reported that the actor would portray one of the main characters, Ray Velcoro, "who has been damaged by years of turmoil in both his personal and professional lives."

Other stars linked to the male lead roles are Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn.
 

Meanwhile, Elisabeth Moss, Rachel McAdams, Jessica Biel, Rosario Dawson, Malin Akerman , Jaimie Alexander, Kelly Reilly, Brit Marling and Oona Chaplin have all been rumoured in contention for the female lead role.
