Collector's office told to remove constructions around trees

A local court today directed District Collector's office and other authorities concerned to remove all kinds of constructions including paver blocks cementing the functional parts of trees in collectorate.

In her order, the civil court judge A H Kashikar (senior division)has ordered for removal of paver blocks, tar made at the foot of trees in the last couple of years and other places in city.

A petition in this regard was filed before court by Rajesh Pandit, an environmental activist .

"The constructions be removed in view to protect trees and in future also such mistakes should be avoided. Any construction of tar or paver-blocks in government or semi-government office premises and other places in the city should not be made," the order stated.
 

The order was issued ex-parte.
