A 21-year-old student of Miranda House college today allegedly attempted suicide by jumping in front of a train at Indraprastha metro station.

Anuradha, a resident of Noida, jumped in front of a metro train going towards Noida/Vaishali around 2:20 PM, police said.

The driver of the train slammed breaks, but the woman received injuries on her head and waist. She was rushed to the LNJP hospital where she is undergoing treatment, they added.

The woman is a B.Sc final year student and was apparently upset over her performance in an exam. "Probably that is the reason for her taking the extreme step," they said.
