A 22-year-old man today allegedly beat his 60-year-old father to death using a stick after the latter reportedly roughed up his mother following a domestic quarrel near Kodumudi in the district.
The man, Gnanasundaram, studying in a local college, found his mother (52) bleeding from the nose and she told him that his father had caused the injury, police said.
In a fit of anger, he took a stout stick and beat his father to death on the spot, police said.
A murder case was registered and Gnanasundaram has been arrested, sources added.
