College student union president shot at in UP

President of Meerut College Students' Union was slightly injured after being allegedly shot at in the premises of the institute here today.

The victim, Dushyant Tomar, has claimed that leader of rival students group, Gagan Som, along with some of its other members had fired upon him him while he was standing near the college's centenary gate.

Tomar said, while he managed to dodge the bullet, some of its splinters hit his hand.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Sankalp Sharma said, the shooting incident was a result of an ongoing feud between two rival student groups.

A case has been filed against Som and and ten unknown students, police said, adding, further investigation is on.
