The teachers and non-teaching staff of Manikpara Vivekananda Shatabarshiki Mahavidyalaya here in West Midnapore district were gheraoed today by the students demanding that teachers should come on time and stay in college till 5 pm.
"The students under the banner of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad gheraoed 40 teachers and non-teaching staff till five pm. They locked us in the college premises till the afternoon," Acting principal Manjusha Singha Mahapatra said.
The students' union leader Debjit Rana said, "None of the teachers come on time. They should come at 10.30 am and they have to stay till 5 pm as per the UGC rule.
