A Vice-Principal of a college in adjoining Raigad district was today caught accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a job seeker, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said.

Tanaji Jyotiram Dhamal, Vice-Principal at Ashok Sable Vidyalaya and Junior College at Mangaon, has been placed under arrest, Additional SP (ACB) Srinivas Ghadge said.

Dhamal demanded Rs 11,20,000 from the job seeker to get the post of an Assistant Teacher. It was decided that the money would be paid in instalments.

The man lodged a complaint with ACB, which laid a trap and caught the 50-year-old Vice-Principal accepting the first instalment of Rs 50,000 in college premises, the anti-graft agency said.

Dhamal has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
