While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Haryana Women and Child Development Department said the state cabinet had recently approved the proposal to constitute this Commission which would be headed by a chairperson and six members from specific areas.

Out of its six members, two would be women, he said.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has approved its first year's budget allocation of about Rs one crore for the same.

The spokesman said that as per section 18 of Commissions for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act, 2005, the above mentioned appointments would be made on the recommendation of three-member selection committee headed by minister in-charge of the Department dealing with children.

The chief minister would nominate the members of the selection committee, he said, adding that the process had already been started to fill other posts in the office of the Commission.
