The Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP today said the party was committed to protect the interest of minority community in Kishtwar district, both in terms of safety of their life as well as the business establishments.

"There will be no compromise on this at any cost," BJP National Executive Member and J-K chief spokesperson Jitendra Singh told reporters at Kishtwar, 230 km from here.

"Nobody should dare take the minority community for granted," Singh said.

The BJP leader said that even after assurance from the government, no initiative had been taken so far for the assessment of the individual losses suffered by business establishments during the violence.

"No action had also been taken against police officers who were evidently involved in encouraging the violence on August 9," he said.

Earlier, a party delegation visited the house of Arvind Kumar, who was killed during the violence.
