Committee formed for quick disposal of land grabbing cases

A committee has been set up by the Kamrup Metropolitan district administration for quick disposal of land grabbing cases, an official release said today.

A meeting held under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner (Kamrup Metro), Virendra Mittal here yesterday decided to set up the committee, it said.

"A committee headed by deputy commissioner as chairman has been constituted under government notification to facilitate and co-ordinate amongst the victims of land grabbing and police/district administration and facilitate quick disposal of land grabbing cases filed by victims," the release said.

The committee was formed with the deputy commissioner as chairman, additional deputy commissioner (Revenue) as member secretary, deputy commissioners of police (East, West, Central Zone and Crime Branch), circle officers of Azara, Chandrapur, Dispur, Sonapur and Guwahati Revenue Circle and the government pleader of Kamrup Metro as member.

 

In every police station there will be a nodal officer to deal with land grabbing cases, the release said.
