The Arunachal Pradesh government has constituted a high level committee to look into the affairs of the railway in the state.
Headed by the political secretary, the committee would have the IPR secretary, IGP (Law & Order), deputy commissioners of the state Capital and Yupia district and railway authorities as its members,chief secretary Ramesh Negi said in a statement here today.
The chief secretary on May 29 had convened a meeting with deputy regional manager of Rangia Rail Division of the North East Frontier Railway where the concerns of the state government and the people in relation to checking of inner line permit, construction of bridge across Pachin and Dikrong rivers and reservation for local unemployed youths in Railway jobs were raised.
"Necessary action on these aspects is in progress," the Negi said adding study on feasibility to run goods train for transportation of food grains and construction materials would also be conducted.
The decision on all above matters would be taken after the study is conducted and the committee submits its recommendations,he said.
