Patel community leader Jayram Vansjaliya today announced that a committee of Patel leaders will be formed to work out a compromise between the OBC quota agitators and Gujarat government.

Vansjaliya is the managing trustee of Umiya Dham institution in Sidsar village of Jamnagar district.

Vansjaliya and Rashmin Halani, another Patel leader, today met quota agitation leader Hardik Patel at Sabarmati jail here and later called on Chief Minister Anandiben Patel.

After meeting the chief minister and Hardik, Vansjaliya claimed that government's approach was positive.

"I can say that government's approach is positive for finding a compromise formula if the quota leaders are ready to soften their stand," he said.

"Till now, all the discussions between us and the government were informal. Now we will form a committee with a representative each from five prominent Patel community institutions. We will put forward the demands and try to reach a compromise," he said.
