A five-member delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) today called on the CPI leadership here and discussed the present situation in the two countries even as the parties decided to strengthen relations between them.
"A five-member delegation from the central committee of Communist Party of China met leadership of CPI today at Ajoy Bhavan (party headquarters).
"The two parties discussed present situation in both the countries and agreed to strengthen relations between them," CPI said in a statement.

The delegation invited CPI General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy to visit China.
The Chinese party also agreed to participate in CPI's 90th Foundation Day celebrations in December this year, the statement said.
CPC's assistant minister of international department Dou Enyong headed the delegation during the meeting, which was attended by Reddy on behalf of CPI, along with party's national secretaries D Raja and Shameem Faizee and others.
