Companies forced to declare undisclosed income after IT raid

Three companies involved in constructing roads and bridges have declared an undisclosed income of Rs 125 crores after Income Tax department raided 29 premises belonging to them, officials said here today.

The Income Tax department had conducted raids at 29 premises belonging to the three companies on August 27 and seized a large number of documents, an Income Tax official associated with the probe said.

After initial probe and questioning on the basis of seized documents, the three companies have declared an undisclosed income of Rs 125 crore, he said.

The probe is still on and the amount of undisclosed income might go up, the official said.
 

The three companies were raided under the direction of Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh area's Income Tax Director General A K Tiwari and Director K C Ghumaria, the official said.
