The Champions Sportive series, a competitive cycling event for amateur cyclists, will be held across eight cities in the country from August 20 to October 15.

The Chennai leg of the event, organised by Indian Terrain Fashions Limited and choosemybicycle.Com, will be held on October 8.

The event format is split into two parts, comprising a competitive leg (100 km race) and non-competitive part (50 km ride). The top three finishers (in men and women sections) from the competitive leg from each city would get a chance to take part in the "the Champions Sportive Series-Grand Finale" in Delhi, against top three from the other cities.

"We believe this event will spread awareness of the sport for both fitness and doing our bit to reduce our community's carbon footprint," Venky Rajagopal, chairman and Managing Director, Indian Terrain Fashions Ltd, said in a press note.

Kailash S, head-marketing, TI Cycles said, "Montra's vision is to make performance cycling accessible to all. Through the Champions Sportive event, we want to create a platform for amateur cyclists to experience competitive cycling.
