In a bizarre case, a man, who lodged a complaint that stones were being hurled at some houses in this tourist town for the last 45 days, landed in police custody as he was found to be behind the mischief.

Police said Mohan, who was arrested, had lodged a complaint that stones were being hurled at the houses in Kodappamand area. Police commenced investigations and nabbed two persons who were moving about suspiciously last night.

On information provided by the two, Mohan and another two persons were taken into custody, police said.

Police said interrogation revealed that one Simon had constructed two new houses in the area and Mohan was jealous and started hurling stones on the houses so that nobody would occupy the houses on rent.

Mohan and his four associates were arrested and remanded to judicial custody, police said.
