Tightening noose around those lodging false complaints, Chhattisgarh Lok Ayog will take action against those who wilfully or maliciously file false complaint under the Lok Ayog Act.
Any person who wilfully or maliciously makes any false complaint under the Chhattisgarh Lok Ayog Act, 2002, shall be liable to penalty, Chief Lokayukta S N Shrivastava said in a statement here today.
However, such complainants will also be provided a chance of hearing before imposing penalty on them, he said.

After finding baseless and false allegations in various complaints, the Ayog has decided to take step in this direction to curb such practices, he added.
In such cases, the complainants will have to deposit fine in the office of Lok Ayog, Raipur.
In case of the complainant failing to deposit the fine within the stipulated time period, the amount will be recovered as done in case of collection of land revenue, he said.
