East Bengal will promote their home matches by distributing free tickets to women and school children to cash in on the football fever generated by the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
"The World Cup has been an eyeopener. We hope to bring in more women fans and school children to the stadium to popularise the sport. So we have thought about giving out complimentary tickets," East Bengal top official Debabrata Sarkar said here today.
The club is also trying to organise public transportation and providing complimentary refreshments to the VIP ticket holders for the tournament that is slated to kick off later this month.
India hosted its first ever FIFA event last month.
