Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari on Monday directed the respective commissioners and district magistrates to strictly comply with rules related to stubble burning to check air pollution in the state.
The chief secretary, who was holding a video conference with the commissioners and district magistrates of various districts, directed them to take all necessary steps to ensure that all rules are followed strictly in this regard.
Additional Chief Secretary Renuka Kumar has also sent a letter to all the district magistrates, asking if the cases of stubble burning by farmers had been mentioned in the revenue records and what action has been taken against the revenue department employees flouting these directions.
