Compressor industry seeks TN govt support for GST reduction

The Coimbatore Compressor Industries Association has met Kerala Finance minister Thomas Isaac seeking his support in getting GST on air compressors reduced from 28 per cent to 12 per cent.

As the industry was not able to pay 28 per cent GST, COCIA office bearers had met union finance minister Arun Jaitley, who in turn asked them that it has to be decided by GST Council and required the support of state governments, an association release said today.

Stating that the small industries were seriously hit by increase in GST in financially difficult position due to increase in GST,

The release said the association, led by its president Ravindran, met Thomas Isaac yesterday in Thiruvananthapuram and sought support to reduce the tax.
 

The association has already met the Tamil Nadu finance minister in this regard, it said.
