Computer engineer arrested for fraudulently withdrawing money

A 29-year-old computer engineer from Karnataka was arrested today for fraudulently withdrawing money from ATM machine, police said.

Thimmarayappa was arrested following a complaint from the Manager of Canara Bank at Sooramangalam.

The fraud came to light when Chinnaswamy, a retired school teacher, went to withdraw money from an ATM of the bank. He found that Rs 15,000 was withdrawn from his account without his knowledge.

He immediately informed the bank about the matter and said he had a suspicion on Thimmarayappa, who was present at the ATM kiosk when the went to withdraw the money.
